“If we’re going to build one Canadian economy—connected, competitive, and resilient—we need to act now to modernize our transportation system and strengthen our supply chains.” This was the message delivered virtually by Coalition co-chair Lisa Raitt at an event organized by the Transportation Policy Innovation Centre (TPIC), in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation - North America, at Carleton University on November 5.

The event, titled “Moving Canada’s Transportation Policy into the 21st Century,” aimed to build collaborative transport policy solutions among industry leaders.

In her remarks, Raitt noted that despite Canada’s inherent strengths, such as its diverse skills and rich resources, the nation is currently lagging other countries in both productivity and infrastructure development. She emphasized that Canada must view its transportation networks as vital national assets integral to economic prosperity. She concluded with a call for unified action across all provinces and sectors to boost Canada’s competitive standing on the global stage.
