Coalition for a Better Future welcomes new cabinet, calls on government to address productivity and drive investment

Ottawa, May 13, 2025 — The Coalition for a Better Future congratulates Prime Minister Mark Carney and the newly appointed cabinet.

“We look forward to working with the Prime Minister and his new cabinet to build a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable economy for all Canadians,” said Hon. Anne McLellan, Co-Chair of the Coalition for a Better Future. “This is a critical moment for Canada as we face unprecedented threats to our economic security. Now is the time for leadership that will tackle our productivity crisis and help develop the conditions necessary for increased investment in our economy.

“We are committed to collaborating with all governments to reverse our declining productivity and advance policies that foster Canada's full potential as a high-performing country,” said Hon. Lisa Raitt, Co-Chair of the Coalition for a Better Future. "Canadians made it clear during the recent election that they want a more productive economy to protect jobs and make life more affordable.  By reducing regulatory barriers that deter investment, we can drive the growth needed to create a resilient Canadian economy.”

The Coalition for a Better Future represents a diverse and growing community of like-minded organizations in the private and not-for-profit sectors. We are unified in our belief that economic growth is necessary for job creation, rising incomes, a cleaner environment, and a better quality of life.
